June 24. Wednesday night.

Perhaps the least rewarding night of the week.

By Monday and Tuesday, a considerable amount has already been chipped away from you.

The back of your head feels hazy and white, and the contours of your thoughts are blurred.

Yet you are still standing in this somewhat halfway place called “Wednesday.”

Friday night is not yet near, and even the weekend air feels far away.

Time simply moves on, indifferently.

What attacks you at this hour is not so much the feeling of “I can’t move,” but rather “I can’t find any reason to move.”

You pick up your phone, but put it down again immediately.

You sit in the corner of the room, simply breathing.

A small voice somewhere in your head says, “I have to do something,” yet even that voice sounds like it belongs to someone else.

We usually dismiss nights like this as “lazing around” or “being unable to concentrate.”

But that’s not really the case.

It’s not that you “lack motivation.”
It’s that your body has become physically unable to force itself any further into the story of the week.

From Monday to Wednesday, you have used a great deal of energy to maintain the image of “someone who is doing things properly.”

That reserve is now beginning to run out.

If your heart feels heavy and unable to move tonight, you don’t have to try to do something about that heaviness.

There is no need to force yourself to create a “meaningful night” or to push yourself by saying, “I need to recharge for tomorrow.”

It’s enough to simply let your weight sink into the bed or the sofa, and pass the time without producing anything.

Stop trying to give this night meaning.

That is the most realistic choice you can make right now.

This is not a night to show anyone, nor a night to prepare for tomorrow — just quietly stacking the fact that “it was Wednesday night.”

That is enough.

Akira's One-Person Discipline affirms from the heart those of you who remain heavy and unmoving on Wednesday night, simply staying as you are.
