Sunday night.
You’re already in bed, yet your fingers keep moving across your phone screen.
You tell yourself “I really should sleep now,” but you end up watching another video or scrolling through someone’s posts.
“If I fall asleep, tomorrow will come.”
Does this vague sense of anxiety ever linger somewhere in your chest?

As Monday approaches, thoughts of work, relationships, and the week ahead start to surface.
The quiet desire to “stretch out this moment just a little longer” makes it hard to put your phone down.
This behavior has recently been called “Revenge Bedtime Procrastination.”
It’s an unconscious form of resistance — trying to reclaim “your own time” at night because you couldn’t have it during the day.
This feeling tends to be especially strong on Sunday nights.
You want to savor the little bit of freedom left in the weekend for as long as possible.
The sense that “from tomorrow, I’ll be under someone else’s time again” makes it harder to fall asleep.
Of course, cutting into your sleep puts a strain on your body.
At the same time, this feeling of “I don’t want to sleep yet” is not simply laziness or self-indulgence.
It may be a quiet expression of your desire to hold onto your own time, even if only a little.
The fact that you can’t put your phone down on Sunday night doesn’t mean you’re weak or undisciplined.
It simply means you’re trying to protect your own time, even just a little.
Akira's One-Person Discipline affirms from the heart those of you who feel “If I sleep, tomorrow will come,” and yet still can’t let go of your phone on Sunday night.
