July 5. Sunday night.
Around 10 p.m., the timeline begins to fill with voices saying “Tomorrow it starts again.”
They all sound like similar despair, somehow feeling worn and familiar.
Feeling “I hate Monday” while lying in bed is not weakness or self-indulgence.
It is a reaction of the brain after being exposed to the same heavy pressure week after week.
The real issue is how we handle that reaction itself.
Being emotionally swallowed by despair and struggling desperately is nothing but a waste of energy.
We cannot erase despair, but how far we can process it within ourselves is a matter of skill.
Therefore, the discipline to be carried out on this Sunday night is this:
Stop accepting Monday’s gloom with “emotion.”
Create a framework in your brain to process it as pre-anticipated information.
Treat Monday not as a threatening entity, but simply as a mechanical 24-hour frame that arrives.
Within that frame, how far can you prevent emotion from intervening?
How far can you bring yourself into a state where you can calmly process tasks?
There is no need to forcibly raise your tension or try to create positive feelings for tomorrow.
Rather, minimize emotion and prepare tonight to move only the necessary functions.
This is not resignation.
It is a rational response to avoid wasting despair and use only what is necessary to get through tomorrow.
We cannot eliminate despair.
But how far we can manage it with our own hands is something we can choose.
Tonight, calmly complete the internal preparation to minimize emotional fluctuation and treat tomorrow as nothing more than a system.
Akira’s One-Person Discipline affirms from the heart those of you who, on Sunday night, do not process Monday’s despair with emotion, but try to handle it strategically.
